Professor Chris Rayner has an interest in luminal gastroenterology, endoscopy and colonoscopy. He has expertise in motility and functional gastrointestinal disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease.
Professor Rayner trained in gastroenterology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital between 1997 and 2001, followed by two years of further specialised training and research at St Mark’s Hospital (London). In 2001 he was given accreditation in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy by the Conjoint Committee of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
He is a Professor at the University of Adelaide and a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and is active in research on gut function and nutrition.
Professor Rayner maintains professional memberships with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, and the American Gastroenterological Association.
He consults and undertakes endoscopy and colonoscopy at Calvary Adelaide Hospital and Broken Hill Hospital.
