Dr Aaditya Narendra

General & Upper GI Surgeon

Dr Aaditya Narendra is a highly trained Australian Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with expertise in reflux surgery, Barrett’s oesophagus and complex upper GI cancer management. He holds a research degree in Upper GI cancer outcome optimisation and has published in the fields of Upper GI cancer, bariatric and robotic surgery. Dr Narendra completed his subspeciality training within highly acclaimed units in Australia and at the National Centre for Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer and the National Centre for Management of Early Upper Gastrointestinal Mucosal Neoplasia at St James University Hospital in Ireland. Prior to commencing subspeciality training,  Dr Narendra completed his training as a general surgeon in Queensland and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and of the Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZGOSA).

While overseas, Dr Narendra held the position of Lecturer in Surgery at Trinity College Dublin and is a Senior Instructor in the Care of the Critically Ill Surgical patient (CCrISP) course reflecting his commitment to surgical education and training.

Dr Narendra has a mixed public and private practice and is currently appointed as a Consultant Upper GI surgeon at Flinders Medical Centre. He is now taking on new referrals for both general and Upper GI surgery.
