Professor Dominic Thyagarajan
Neurologist
Professor Dominic Thyagarajan obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate research degrees at the University of Melbourne and did his physician training and neurology specialisation at St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne) and The Alfred Hospital (Melbourne). He subsequently held fellowship positions in the USA at the Mayo Clinic (Minnesota) and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centre (New York) as an NHMRC CJ Martin Fellow. On returning to Australia he was appointed the head of Neurology at Flinders Medical Centre, where he established an integrated stroke unit and a comprehensive deep brain stimulation program for movement disorders.
