Dr Alice Day
Dietitian
Dr Alice Day is a nationally and internationally recognised emerging leader in the field of diet, gastroenterology and inflammatory bowel disease, with advanced clinical and research expertise in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the gut microbiota.
Beyond research, Dr Day is reshaping clinical practice by advancing new models of care that embed diet therapy into mainstream gastroenterology services. Dr Day and her team founded South Australia’s first gastroenterology-diet clinics and are leading efforts to expand integrated multidisciplinary gastroenterology clinics and service delivery into rural areas through a hub-and-spoke IBD care model.
A passionate mentor and educator, she supervises multiple PhD students and continues to build the next generation of IBD and gastroenterology nutrition researchers. Her leadership is evident through her roles with national and international bodies, including her recent appointment to the Dietitians Committee (2025-2028) and her active involvement in developing internal IBD diet consensus guidelines and patient education materials.
