Dietitian

Dr Alice Day is a nationally and internationally recognised emerging leader in gastroenterology nutrition, with advanced clinical and research expertise in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), diet therapy, and the gut microbiome.

Dr Day is helping reshape gastroenterology care through innovative, multidisciplinary models that integrate nutrition into mainstream clinical practice. She co-founded South Australia’s first gastroenterology-dietitian clinics and is leading initiatives to expand integrated IBD services into rural communities through a hub-and-spoke model of care.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Day is an active researcher, mentor, and educator. She supervises multiple PhD students and is committed to developing the next generation of IBD and gastroenterology nutrition researchers. Her leadership extends across national and international organisations, including her appointment to the Dietitians Committee (2025–2028), and contributions to IBD diet consensus guidelines and patient education resources.
