Dr Shauna Madigan

Gastroenterologist

Dr Shauna Madigan is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with broad experience in general gastroenterology, endoscopy and liver disease.

Shauna grew up in Mallala and attended high school in Gawler before completing her specialist training across major Adelaide hospitals and the Royal Darwin Hospital. She has also worked in regional and remote settings throughout the Northern Territory.

Most recently, Shauna completed a clinical fellowship at the Leeds Liver Unit in the United Kingdom, where she gained further experience in complex and advanced liver disease and liver transplantation.

Shauna welcomes referrals across gastroenterology and hepatology, including common gastrointestinal conditions such as reflux and dyspepsia, altered bowel habit, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, iron deficiency anaemia, gastrointestinal bleeding, and bowel cancer screening and surveillance. She performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy, including polyp detection and removal.

She has a particular interest in chronic liver disease, including metabolic liver disease, cirrhosis and complex hepatology.

Having grown up locally, Shauna is pleased to be returning to South Australia and is committed to providing practical, accessible specialist care while working closely with local GPs to support the ongoing care of her patients.
