Dr Mahinda De Silva graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1998.
He then trained in gastroenterology at Royal Hobart Hospital, Box Hill Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He was awarded Fellowship in gastroenterology by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2008. He was also recognised by the Conjoint Committee of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia for the recognition in gastrointestinal training in endoscopy in 2008. Dr De Silva was then appointed as a Staff Specialist at Repatriation Hospital and VMO specialist at Broken Hill Health Service.
Dr De Silva has a special interest in coeliac disease and colorectal cancer screening and prevention. He can perform double balloon enteroscopy in the investigation of small bowel disorders. He is also a member of Gastroenterological Society of Australia and the American Gastroenterological Association.
